Angelo Mei is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and certified addiction counselor. He has a natural ability to form meaningful connections with people and a passion for helping others discover their own strengths, skills and inner resources to live fulfilling lives.

Previously, Angelo put his extraordinary abilities to work as a documentary filmmaker. From traveling the world using his skills to uncover the stories of elite athletes, to working as a TV producer on A&E’s Emmy nominated series Intervention, Angelo delivered eye-opening, life-changing results and was awarded for his work.

It was during an episode of A&E’s series Intervention where he had an epiphany that would change the course of his life. With over 20 years of sobriety himself, he felt a deep understanding for the lives on the other side of the lens. He realized that with the right training and education he could offer a more direct impact to people in need. So, he gave up a successful career in TV and began his journey to become an addiction counselor and licensed therapist.

While completing his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, Angelo worked with teens and families at Visions Adolescent Treatment Center. During his five years there, he focused on issues of addiction, family systems, anxiety, depression and attachment.

Angelo’s dedication, passion, and unique perspective did not go unnoticed. In 2023, he was recruited by Coastwise Recovery Center to develop their clinical program and launch the newly formed facility. Currently serving as Program Director, Angelo oversees program facilitation while providing innovative and evidence-based therapies.

When he’s not working, Angelo spends time with his beautiful wife. They share a love for cinema and great food. A life-long surfer, Angelo draws inspiration from the ocean.
